This is the latest part of an undercover investigation into the tacit and sometimes overt support for antifascist harassment among elements of the Irish media and political class. We advise you to listen to all leaked audio and read all leaked data in full before reading the below article. All audio can be found on our Youtube. Audio has been edited in parts for legal reasons, as well as to protect the names of third parties.

Síona Cahill is former President of the Union of Students Ireland (2018/2019) as well as a Board Member for the Irish Family Planning Association and Maynooth Students Union.

Previous to this she has held roles across student government as well as being podcast host for the Irish Independents “Going to College Series”

Over the course of this investigation multiple figures associated with the Union of Students of Ireland have been implicated in this expose in addition to Ms Cahill. Prominent among these included current USI President (Lorna Fitzpatrick) and Northern Ireland President (Robert Murragh) as well as Vice President Michelle Byrne, who has subsequently resigned.

Towards the end of our investigations Ms Cahill made contact over the phone with one of our reporters.

Over the course of the conversation Cahill outlined the means by which our antifascist group could propagate a story among sympathetic media figures. Naming relevant contacts in the media and NGO sphere that would be willing to cooperate with our activists.

It was stressed during the conversation that the intention was to inflict professional damage on individuals with right wing beliefs.

Among the organisations mentioned was the Irish Network Against Racism (INAR) a prominent anti-racist NGO, which has drawn criticism due to its funding as well as its role in lobbying the state for hate speech legislation and active participation in antifascist events.

Mentioned as well was the means by which activists could conceal a “left wing bias” as supposedly impartial representatives.

At the time of publication Ms Cahill has yet to respond.
