Tens of thousands of Irish people marched last weekend against mass immigration on the most sacred time of the year to Irish Republicanism. In contrast, a handful of ignorant people have in the past 12 months tried to march with Loyalists.
This article explains why such behaviour, though rare, is stupid and repulsive, and must cease immediately.
On Saturday, Dublin had its largest anti-immigration rally to date. In contrast, on Sunday, Belfast had its smallest crowd since its own anti-immigration protests began.
The contrast between Dublin and Belfast over the weekend could not be clearer. The cheerful, positive, and Republican vibe of the Dublin protest had its sea of Irish Tricolours, its Irish Republic flags, its Erin go Bragh flags, its Frank Teeling flags, its Bobby Sands flags, its Cumann na mBan flags, its Easter lilies, its pipers and drummers, its singing of Grace and Amhrán na bhFiann, its appeals to Ireland’s past, and hopes and prayers for the future. A great, positive atmosphere, which contrasted well against the spectacle of the freakish and hateful mob of reds counter-protesting.
The protest on Sunday in Belfast could not have been more different. A small gathering of politically confused individuals bearing an incoherent assembly of flags with an inchoate message. In contrast with the high-energy and directed speeches in Dublin, appealing to a syncretic mix of working-class rhetoric and the Irish nationalist tradition of resistance, given by councillors elected on their anti-immigration credentials, the Belfast protests are now apparently being led by a pole dancer.
This farce of a movement could not sink lower if it tried, and it’s high time that it be killed dead before it does any more damage.
The march in Dublin, even foreign media noted, was lined up to be “a reassertion of nationalist credibility after the politically damaging presence of Southern anti-immigration protesters alongside Ulster Loyalists during last summer’s Belfast riots.’ That is to say, the march was a success in spite of the protests taking place in Belfast. But that doesn’t justify them at all.
While the motivations of the people behind these Belfast protests are most likely genuine and well-meaning, the outcome has been anything but positive and conducive to the good of Ireland and her people. It is best for this to be brought to an end; no good has come from it, and no good will ever come from it. At best, it is a strategic miscalculation. We hope, therefore, that those who miscalculated will recognise this error and cease.
If not, the pressure from within the nationalist movement on these misguided people will increase. Several have already complained of the vitriol they experienced for marching with loyalists. If they persist, this vitriol will see them cast out of any nationalist activity.
While the initial reaction to last year’s Belfast protest on social media was very positive, the reaction was mostly coming from foreign accounts, who do not understand the complex political realities of life in the North; the domestic reaction was the opposite. Certain members of Coolock Says No were discredited by their presence at Belfast, and excluded by other protest groups, this publication has repeatedly condemned this phoney alliance between Nationalists and Loyalists in strong terms.
Let’s look at the actual political viability of unity between Nationalists and Loyalists on this issue, however far-fetched it may seem.Loyalists are fundamentally opposed to a united Ireland. Only a united Ireland would have the capability to completely control the borders of Ireland. So long as the Common Travel Area exists, and so long as Britain has an appendage on the island of Ireland, the immigrant flow is essentially at the behest of Britain.
While some might argue that Loyalists could make for good short-term allies as they oppose immigration, it must be noted that Loyalists are currently in opposition to an Irish sea border that could be used to prevent immigration in the current two-state predicament.
So, even as allies in the fight against mass migration, Loyalists are worthless. They support open borders de facto because they support unity with Britain, the ever-lasting catalyst of Ireland’s woes.
And it is farcical even to suggest that Loyalists will side with the Irish against immigrants. As the Loyalist Village in Belfast is becoming more and more diversified, local youths make incursions across the Falls interface area to attack the Irish from St. James’ and have been doing so for well over a year now. Just recently was the latest in a spate of sectarian attacks where Irish women are driven by cowardly intimidation out of Loyalist areas—this time a heavily pregnant woman. And on Sunday in Derry, three young Irishmen were ambushed and attacked by a gang of Loyalists who filmed and posted the video online.
Sectarian tensions are currently rising, as Derry Gaels made an incursion into the Loyalist West Bank of Derry to vandalise their beloved mural in response to the attacks they suffered. Loyalists are already stacking pallets in anticipation of the fast-approaching Twelfth of July, where they will burn Irish Tricolours and celebrate their triumph over the Irish forces at the Battle of the Boyne. They will march in supremacist parades and try to force their way into Irish Nationalist areas to parade their supremacy over us.
The first of these such protests is a perfect example of this ‘unholy alliance’. The protesters marched to the Ormeau Road, a Nationalist area that Loyalists have long desired to parade through. There, they hurled sectarian abuse at the residents and mocked the Irish victims of the Seán Graham bookmakers’ massacre. Irish pawns who helped in this display of Loyalist triumphalism over the Irish people should hang their heads in shame. This protest and subsequent riot had the effect of turning Northern Nationalists away from the protest movement and driving a wedge between nationalists on both sides of the border.
Let’s go beyond mere criticism, however, and suggest a more viable path forward. The success of the Dublin anti-immigration rally in moving towards the traditional republican position is useful because it may win over Northern Republicans in the long run. As Stephen J. Delaney notes: ‘The Republican tradition came under attack from within our own camp, but we fended off that attack out of respect for the Irish in the north and their struggle, which is our struggle too. This has been noticed and acknowledged. More Republicans are now interacting with our content than ever before and vice versa. These Republicans are now moving away from the globalist Antifa movement and towards nationalism again. We should respond in kind and move away from the Trumpian global right wing that has emerged post-US election. […] It is time we reclaim our culture of Republicanism and pursue the vision of 1916. A unified, sovereign nation.’
Irish people north and south are, by and large, Republican in nature, even if they haven’t put much thought into it. Republicanism appeals to us. Unionism, let alone loyalism, is a rare thing amongst us, and confined mostly to off-putting, misshapen conservative types. No other ideologies are relevant to the island as it stands. While there are differences among Irish Republicans—ranging from a simple support for an Irish Republic, an electoral form of government where representatives are answerable to the people; to the traditional Irish Republican tradition, a belief in an All-Ireland Republic that is wholly sovereign from foreign rule; to Socialist Republicans, who go further and tackle the economic angle from a Socialist perspective—all are at heart Republican.
None of this is to say that we should engage in sectarian attacks against Protestants. The Irish Tricolour represents peace between Catholics and Protestants on this island. What we detest, however, is the association of the Irish Tricolour with the Union Jack, the visual representation of our oppression, our dispossession, and our undoing. We stand against Loyalism and with Irish Republicans and the Republic. This is the coherent, correct, and sensible position.
Rather than forming a doomed alliance between Nationalists and Loyalists in the North, we should pursue uniting Irish people north and south and driving them together as a united force against the two governments that occupy our island. Serious discontent on immigration is already building among Irish Republicans in the North. Let us not continue to squander this discontent with a political strategy that is doomed to fail. All of Ireland is at risk, and we have all of Ireland to win.Dublin has shown us the way forward. Let us take their heed.
The Common Travel Area means that an all-British Isles approach needs to be adopted to immigration whereby the UK and RoI both agree to stop all non-white immigration. The fight against immigration should bring the British Isles together. Anti-immigration also means Ireland must leave the EU — as it cannot control its sea/air borders with the EU. Any Algerian with a French passport can rock up in Ireland. The Tricolour should not be seen in anti-migration demonstrations, as it is a deliberately divisive flag that openly denies Unionist rights. Odd that you call yourself the Burkean: Edmund Burke was pro-British.
The ” relationship ” between London taxpayers & the permanently bankrupt 6 counties is a ” sexless marriage ” .
Unfortunately , Irish republicanism in the guises of R S F , S F , Workers party & all the other pinkos support unlimited immigration . It will never change . When Reform win the next UK election Paddy will be the de facto destination for Britain’s unwanted . Expect 2K asylum applicants per week in the months leading up to & after an electoral mauling for spoofer Starmer .
“British isles” – give your head a wobble – kind of prove the writers point………….clown
I am in favour of cessation of immigration across not merely the British Isles but all of Western Europe.
Since leaving the EU the UK has descended into total farce with massive uncontrolled immigration from the entire third world.
I despair for Ireland and the EU- frankly its more likely a solution will e found in the core rather than the periphery though
Mainstream Northern Irish nationalism IS Sinn Fein, a bunch of Open Borders-supporting, troon-infested, Antifa-adjacent globalists, who’ve spread their fake Republicanism across the island to prioritise our replacement. A parrallel modern nationalism needs to emerge in the North & it cannot align with SF.
We can put up a fence between the Republic & NI, who’s future is as a Pakistani Muslim stronghold, if N. Ireland’s so-called nationalists have anything to do with it. F*ck ’em.

You can BE IRISH…without being British Loyalist,Unionist,West Brit SF
Non Irish will not Dictate or Abuse OUR IRISH FLAG…OUR CALL.
Globalist SF is not REPUBLICAN, neither North or South, and even if they did another, about face, they will not be trusted, their Marxist Open
Borders, Degenerate Radicalization of School Children, Wokeness and Child Abuse through Transdoctrine and Tusla are pure fu.kin evil.
WEST BRITS FF AND FG have been helped by No Opposition SF in the destruction of All Ireland, through all of the above and Political Chess On The Border, Irish Safety and Security their abusive weapon for 100yr
The COMMON Denominator in all of this and to all of them is their allegiance to and infiltration by English/British/UK Govern-men Spies and Collaborators within all Irish Institutions and NGOs everywhere.
So yes, as long as any British Identity is involved in Irish Affairs, and we have witnessed the shite created in all our lifetimes, not just the last 100 years but nearer to Millennium…NOTHING WILL CHANGE.
And the only Consulation I will give to Anything But Irish is that we and
Only We Irish will hold the Real Irish Flag, not the Tricolour Abused. 🇮🇪
“So, even as allies in the fight against mass migration, Loyalists are worthless. They support open borders de facto because they support unity with Britain”
But Loyalists do not support open borders or more dark people immigration. They are actively protesting it, and it is very broad minded of them to invite people carrying the Tricolour to attend their marches.
We should do the same: What about a Euro-solidarity with Rochdale and Rotherham march to the British Embassy in Dublin? Union Jacks and the flag of St George welcome. Also Welsh, Scottish, Isle of Man, plus all European flags.
Slogan: All Pakistanis have been deported from India. Let’s deport all Pakistanis from the EU and UK as well!
The men who carried the tricolour amongst the Belfast prods and survived alive are heros. That they got led into being present when sectarian taunts were made is appalling and stinks of deep state dirty tricks. Why would any Proddie remigration enthusiast make a sectarian gesture, with BBC cameras present, after attending a march where the tricolour was flown? It doesn’t make sense. If it doesn’t make sense, it is not true.
Deep State forces do not want Protestants and Catholics uniting over anything, and recent deeply regrettable Catholic/Proddie beatings and evictions should be seen in that light. Did someone wind up someone else to create an incident? They have been doing that for 400 years…Please don’t fall for it.
Let’s not call them “loyalists”. Let’s call them Ulster Prod Remigration Enthusiasts.
“You can’t be Irish and produce a monolingual English-language journal named after a great guy who was also a notorious west Brit.”
It’s true that the loyalists like their link to Britain, but they want Britain to close it’s borders too.
Catholics and Protestants have been chopping lumps out of each other for four centuries. The fact that we are starting to unite on the issue of Remigration terrifies the people who manage the Great Replacement.
Stop the Brother War! Beware provocateurs who try to rekindle the war by attacks.
What the loyalists are saying to us by their “bring your flag” invitations is this: While we don’t agree with all that Republican stuff, we would much rather be neighbours to you rather than the Pakistanis and Nigerians.
And so say all of us!
I agree with Mr Webb that it would be great for Ireland to leave the EU, but he is incorrect when he says the 26 “cannot control its sea/air borders with the EU”.
Even while suffering under the EU yoke, we can still deport anyone we want to – and process all refugee claims within 24 hours. Mass deportations, even of EU citizens, are perfectly legal.
All we need to do is to change our current government of lunatic traitors to a government full of honest Remigration enthusiasts. Any suggestions?
Any efforts to cooperate on the Great Remigration with our (mostly ethnic Gaelic) Union Jack waving Proddie neighbours should be encouraged.

A Nationalist Solidarity and All Ireland Alliance was voted IN , 1919.
All United Ireland and National Cooperation will be by all Irishmen.
We are all on the same page, we all know and agree who Our Enemies are in Ireland, North and South, across the water and the VILE EU.
ANY TRAITOR, LOCAL OR FOREIGN, ENEMY OF 1, ALL OUR ENEMY…ALL IRELAND CAN ONLY PROSPER IN PATRIOTISM .
…but never ignore or forget that those who previously aided and abetted in the British empire, some believing to do so would achieve the DEAL FOR IRELAND, were lied to, tricked and fooled by a Foreign Power that never gave a second thought to murdering their family, friends, wives and children with the introduction to the Coward Black n Tans, while stranded in India and fighting for another Colony, for the BRITISH.
There was no Solidarity or United Front shown that time, to Irish Solders Irish Regments, Irish People or Ireland in any way shape or form, only treason and destruction.
Now the shoe is on the other foot, you English, British, UKRS or whatever are on the receiving end of what you dealt out in spades but did not give a thought or fu.k to YOUR CLOSEST FRIEND, NEIGHBOUR.
We don’t want you to come crawling with your pathetic snivelling, instructions or demands….grow up…BE MEN…ACKNOWLEDGE ALL.
I think a green flag with a harp on it is the most appropriate flag for Ireland, instead of the tricolour, which makes a claim on the Unionists, which in the GFA Ireland actually disavowed. However: whatever flag, and whatever the constitutional set-ups, the overriding point is the immigration will make all of this irrelevant. In fact, in Canada, Carney has posed as a Canadian nationalist, while espousing a programme of massive immigration into Canada that makes Canada just an economic zone (and if you’re an economic zone, why not be part of a larger economic zone?. Immigration into Ireland has the same trajectory. Is Ireland just an economic zone? Or it is the country of the Gaels? This is the fundamental issue. If you don’t have an ethno-cultural identity, then you are just an economic zone, and then the borders can be endlessly redrawn, because there is no reason why an economic zone should have any particular borders once the country is no longer seen as the land of a certain people. All disputes with the Unionists are irrelevant. Ireland is being erased — just as England is being erased.

Ireland already has its flag prior to the Tricolour, we all know that.
Until that flag is replaced, it will be respected, and those that have in the past and present disrespected that flag have no say or will dictate to
Irelands Irish what is a Nationalist Choice.
There is a very slow learning curve when one does not know the answer to a so called fundamental issue…and to answer that is justifying a stupid insult.
SETTLERS, in Occupied Territories are ILLEGAL according to the UN.
We can see what Ultra Zionists are doing to Palistine, West Bank and

Anybody that cannot see or understand the comparison that is already
happening, HERE AND NOW under the cloaks of Globalist,Communist,
Multiculturalist, Totalitarianism and REPLANTATION…then don’t waste Our Time…the wake up call happened decades ago. 💚☘🇮🇪
Ivaus (is this meant to be “I bhfeabhas”, getting better, in Irish??) I have already stated that most of the Unionist community have Gaelic lines of ancestry too. I gave an example of my Trainor ancestors from Ballyardel in the Mourne mountains, Kilkeel, Co. Down. Nicholas Trainor/Traynor was married to Mary Cunningham (married about 1850). Another line of ancestors of mine was Henry Turbitt of Clogher, co. Tyrone, married to Ann Callann — so you see the Protestant and Catholic lineages were always mixed.
“So long as the Common Travel Area exists, and so long as Britain has an appendage on the island of Ireland, the immigrant flow is essentially at the behest of Britain.”
This is utter nonsense. Just over 5k immigrants (of what description isn’t noted) came to Ireland through this route in 2024. That’s just 3.6% of the intake.
Non-EU (or non-European) countries supplied almost 60%, the EU supplied 18% etc. and Irish citizens returning home 20%.
Dave,
Do you know the meaning of your Trainor surname? Trein fhear – strong/powerful man.
The article accuses the Belfast demo of having an “inchoate” message. This is wrong. They have a very choate message: Belfast says No! What could be simpler or clearer than that?
If you are going to use fancy words, use them properly!
The Tricolour does have a whiff of masonic nonsense about it. Trad Catholics like to spice it up a little with a cross and Sacred Heart. It’s not a claim on Orangeman’s land, but an attempt to broker peace (white).
In a future united Ireland, the six counties will, obviously, have some kind of federal set up. The Tricolour/ Union Jack triangle combo flag they displayed in the photo would be a great choice for the flag of the six county statelet.
That loyalist pole dancing lady sounds like she could be Ireland and Ulster’s Joan of Arc. Instead of whinging about her, why don’t the Burkean organise a 26 county tour for this lady? She can use the Tricolour/Jack combo flag as backdrop for the Remigration poledancing show. It will be beautiful…
If it’s true that darkies are moving into loyalist areas and inciting some of our lower IQ Proddie brethern to sneak over the peace line for a bit of Taig bashing, this is horrific and must be stopped.
Set up a call with some legal loyalist paramilitaries: I think they are called community activists now and they get funding. Explain the sit-ee-ayshun to them. They will understand the gravity of it and, without breaking anyone’s legs, they can ensure that the darkies are “incentivised” to return to the mainland, where Two Tier Keir will welcome them.
I respectfully request a bit less vitriolic bitching, even if dressed with high falutin verbiage and a bit more constructive suggestions.
No offence to lady dogs or to aristocrats or even to people who think they are homosexuals, but the editorial team of the Burkean sometimes sound like a bunch of bitchy queens.

No such thing in Ireland as orange land, the pathetic attempt to ridicule a recognised Irish flag and then suggest it be combined with what is
Globally recognised as The Butchers Apron is the mindset of fairies blowing smoke up each other’s ass, nothing we did not anticipate and see coming from past performances…back to your Beano,Dandy and Punch.
